One of Long Island’s Best Bands!
Siblings and long-time friends came together in 2013 to form Quarter Horse. Described generally as Americana, the group’s sound is further characterized by a wide range of influences including folk, rock, alternative, and jazz. The songwriting employs unique arrangements and the lyrics come with powerful delivery. Some will say the band’s large three-part vocal harmonies have come to define them, but other signatures of their sound include tandem lead guitar, sections of improv that showcase the band’s musicianship, and a fondness for utilizing various instrumentations.
“Quarter Horse,” the band’s self-titled debut album was produced by Grammy Award winning artist Andy Falco of the Infamous Stringdusters and released in December of 2016. Quarter Horse has since been writing material for their next release and performingthroughout the northeast at venues such as Stephen Talkhouse, My Father’s Place, The Boulton Center, Suffolk Theater, Great South Bay Music Festival, Philadelphia Folk Festival, and Falcon Ridge Folk Festival where they were named “Most Wanted Emerging Artist” in 2018. On stage is where the band truly comes to life. Acoustic or amplified, intimate rooms or large stages, the performances equally captivate. Pulling from their ever-expanding catalogue, each set is thoughtfully crafted and unique from start to finish. Quarter Horse is ever-evolving; one would be hard-pressed to see the same show twice.
